Junior Sailing Classes: June 28, 2021 - August 27, 2021
Novice:
Monday – Friday: 9:00 am - 12 pm
Junior:
Monday – Friday: 9:00 am3:00 pm
Some classes may be shortened or cancelled when conflicting with other junior events. Check WHYC Calendar and/or the WHYC bulletin board on the Club House porch for any changes.
The weekly schedule will be divided into group/individual lessons at the instructors’ discretion based on the following:
i. Experience/age of students
ii. Possible student pairings
iii. Number of students participating that week
iv. Potential risk and state/federal mandates
v. Available boats
Students must be age 8 or older, except by Head Sailing Instructor’s discretion. Sailors must pass a swimming test to sail in the Bullseyes with an instructor, and additionally a capsize test to sail in the Optis or 420’s .
In case of bad weather, the instructors will either teach an indoor class (knots, sailing rules, charting courses, games, etc.) or cancel sailing for the day.
3 Club Bullseyes, 6 420s, and 9 Optis will be operational this year.
Instructors may cancel the classes for the day and send students home due to bad weather conditions.
